Aldaview Services - New Hamburg
Aldaview Services provide supports for approximately thirty persons with developmental disabilities. The services and activities are geared to promote community involvement and participation, at the level desired and required by the individual. These include residential and day support as well as respite, and a day-activity centre, where people are employed to learn skills for preparation for community employment. Many individuals are employed in the community on a full or part-time basis. The life skills and recreation programs are geared toward individuals who are more interested in leisure activity during the week.

The centre also provides a teen program during the summer for students, who are returning back to school in the fall, and would like to be involved with their friends in a learning environment and at the same time participate in leisure based activities. The supported independent living option provides guidance for adults moving into community apartment living. The adults focus on learning daily living skills, social skills and community awareness skills that will allow the fullest participation within their own community .

Aldaview is very highly regarded as a full player in the small community of New Hamburg. Not only are financial supports one of the main keys of success in community integration, but business supports, such as providing employment opportunities for the individuals are equally important. The agency's main focus is to increase awareness in the community about disability issues and to break down the barriers to increase the options for people with disabilities.

Aldaview Services is a division of Tri-County Mennonite Homes.
