Job Description of the Vice-chairperson
Authority
& Responsibility
The Vice-Chairperson will assume the Chairperson’s role in his/her
absence.
Qualifications/Skills
Completed one year of Board membership term , have an understanding
of parliamentary procedures, and be a member in good standing.
Term
of Office
-
Commitment to the mission and values of ORWC.
-
Knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Board
governance: policy, finance, programs, human resources experience,
leadership, marketing.

Willingness to serve on at least one additional
committee.
-
A time commitment of ___ to___ hours per month.
(Includes Board preparation, travel time & meeting and committee
meeting time).

Attendence at all scheduled Board meetings.

Foster a positive working relationship with other
Board members and staff.
- Attendance and
participation in the Annual General Meeting.
- Be aware and abstain
from any conflict of interest.

Assist in establishing the overall long and short
term goals, objectives and priorities for ORWC in meeting the requirements
and expectations of the membership.

The Vice-Chairperson of the Board shall be a signing
officer of the Corporation.
- During the absence
or inability of the Chairperson of the Board, the Chairperson’s
duties and powers may be exercised by the Vice-Chairperson.
- Adhere to the general
duties outlined in the Board member job description.
